McCain Foods plans expansion in Plover

McCain Foods USA has announced an expansion of its processing plant in Plover.

The supplier of frozen appetizers, and snack food products across the country announced the $169-million expansion on Monday. The Plover will add an additional production line to the facility that supports a new cheese-based appetizer line in operation 24 hours a day.

The expansion project, slated to break ground in the spring, will add 135,000 square feet to the facility and create 110 new jobs for the community.

“McCain Foods USA has a proud history producing delicious, high-quality cheese-based appetizers in America’sDairyland,” Michael O’Brien, president of the company’s North America Appetizers Division, said in a news release. “This expansion furthers our commitment to the Plover community, and our commitment to our customers to continue to grow and provide high-quality delicious food for their consumers.”

McCain Foods USA is a leading supplier of frozen potato and snack food products for the foodservice markets, retail grocery chains, and private label brands in restaurants and supermarket freezers across the country. The company is headquartered in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., and employs 4,000 people at production facilities in Idaho, Maine, Nebraska, Washington, and Wisconsin.
